My literary recommendation by teacher: Alberto (English Department)

Some days ago I was asked to think about a book I could recommend students at Mediterranean Sea Secondary School to read. I gave it a thought and another thought so as to find the most suitable title in this fake world we are living where values, ideas, ideals, commitment and so on are no longer alive till this blog post: Once upon a time, 400 years ago, a writer named Cervantes...   came to my mind. It was an act of remembrance of the 400th anniversary of Cervantes' death. 

I highly recommend it to our students since they will discover a brilliant parallelism made by this British novelist with our Don Quijote brought to a specific moment of our recent history, that is to say, the first years of democracy. They will have the chance to have a look at another society, another moment, their grandparents' world, where simple good wine meant simple good wine and where a desire to make a change from their recent past was so strong. Serious matters  mixed with great moments of comedy. Our students will also have the chance to watch the film if they visit my blog.
